I don’t sleep very well. And I know a lot of you suffer from the same “syndrome”.

Yet, layperson “health” advice often includes: “get 8 hours of sleep….”

Then articles like this started showing up, and I felt better: maybe the expectation of 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep is an invention of modernity?

We can’t change what society demands. We can’t (and don’t want to) dial back on modern conveniences.

But maybe we can also CDFD and stop telling everyone how “important” 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is. Because? Maybe it actually isn’t like that.
